Executive Master in Management

University Course for General Management

The University Course for General Management conveys, on an academic foundation, the analytical skills and the decision-making competence required for a successful career in General Management. The course is particularly aimed at people who either hold a leading position in General Management, or are designated for one. The training is adjusted to the key qualifications of General Management and conveys all the necessary development, problem-solving and innovation competences. This master program tremendously increases the chances of executives and junior executives in the international job market!

The participants should first learn how to attain the knowledge and skills that will help them to successfully take on leadership responsibility in the context of specialisation, globalisation, and cost-oriented growth.

Secondly, in a dynamic focussing on competence, knowledge and skills will be conveyed in order to effectively apply strategies in practice. Knowledge and skills proven in practice will be merged with new ideas.

Thirdly, skills relevant for leadership and decision-making will be conveyed, which are necessary to be able to act and decide decisively and self-reflectively, with high standards regarding the individual personality, in a problem-, dialogue- and success-oriented manner.

Venues

The master study program takes place at three international venues: Salzburg, St. Gallen, and London. The individual locations offer great infrastructure with modern classrooms. They are part of an internationally-oriented concept.

Target groups:

  • Entrepreneurs, executives and junior executives in SMBs
  • Alumni of all fields and branches of study seeking to acquire high-quality economy-oriented additional qualification

At a glance:

  • Start: October 2012
  • Duration: 3 semesters
  • Teaching times: part-time training, usually on Fridays: 2pm – 7pm and Saturdays: 9am – 5pm
  • Venue: Rif (near Salzburg) University Sports Centre
  • Course fee: € 13,640.-, including examination fees (can be paid in 3 instalments)

Participation criteria:

 

·          People with a completed academic degree, or comparable qualification

·          People with at least 4 years of occupational practice in a leadership position in a corresponding field of management work

·          After clarification of the formal requirements, an interview with the course director will be held.

·          Admittance is decided by the course director

 

Exams:

 

·          Qualifying exams in all required subjects

·          Courses which consist of exercises, PBL or e-learning only, are completed with a certificate of successful attendance

·          Project work

·          Master Thesis Qualification

On graduation from this study programme the internationally renowned postgraduate degree of Master in Management (MIM) is awarded.
