Established University Course for Company Lawyers

Goals and Benefits:

Changes in market and competitive conditions have shaped the career opportunities for lawyers in recent years. The discontinuation of the public sector creates new, future-oriented occupational areas at the intersection of law & economy. The "Master of Business Law" university course is aimed at exactly this point. Since 2000, this course has been preparing future company lawyers for the multiple tasks in the management area and in the field of commercial law.

The demand for competent company lawyers taking on management tasks in companies is growing: lawyers with specialist knowledge in commercial law are sought-after on executive levels and in human resource departments. Large corporate law firms increasingly require specialist knowledge in commercial law and management qualifications. Studying law can only give you a general basis for these challenges. The goal of the "MBL" is to convey a profound training oriented at commercial law and management, with a high emphasis on practice. The master program can be completed part-time on weekends, and graduates receive the academic degree of "Master of Business Law" at the University of Salzburg. The internationally accepted degree "MBL" opens up attractive career perspectives on the national and international legal job market.

At a glance:

  • Teaching times: 25 modules (Fridays afternoon and Saturdays full-time)
  •  Venue: Jurisprudential Faculty of the University of Salzburg, Churfürststr. 1, 5020 Salzburg
  • A module in Global Management and Entrepreneurship in Toronto is offered optionally, in collaboration with the Rotman School of Management
  • Course fee: € 3,450. per semester plus € 900.- examination fee and € 150.- administration fee (excluding the excursions)

Graduation from this study programme results in the internationally renowned academic degree of Master of Business Law (MBL), given by the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg.
