SEA: Dear Pascal, you have been managing an extremely successful startup portfolio for many years. What do you think brings the competitive advantage to a startup team?
PL: The team’s ability to react to changing market and competitive conditions quickly— recognizing when they have gone down the wrong path and making course correction before it is too late— this is commonly  referred to as “the ability to pivot”.

SEA: What does a VC of your caliber looks for in a winning team?
PL: Passion, Deep Domain expertise and coachability.
SEA: What are your top 3 criteria for evaluating a possible portfolio company?
PL: Defensible Intellectual Property, Sense of Urgency, Extraordinary Talent
SEA: What is in your opinion the main difference between a European and an American startup?
PL: Many European startups think too small, do not envision themselves as global organizations,  and do not embrace the development of breakthrough technology
SEA: Thank you very much Pascal Levensohn! We are looking forward to your lectures at the Silicon Castles Startup Executive Academy in August.
